Perspektiv Öst
ANIMATED ILLUSTRATION
Perspektiv Öst is a research project from Södertörn University.
Their website collects socially relevant research on the Baltic Sea and the Eastern European region based on current societal issues, where currently the first theme is about the war in Ukraine.
Together with the team at Azote, I developed 3 illustrations for their social media channels, the goal was to get people curious about the articles. I came up with a summary image for each article that could speak to the core of that article.
The 3 articles were about
1. Ukraine's communication strategy proves to be quite unique.
2. The memory of the national famine of the 1930s gives Ukrainians strength to fight.
3. Is Russia's phantom pains behind the war in Ukraine?
I used a mixed-media technique, building characters with different textures.
